Wedding FAQs

How many images do you take on the wedding day?

As many as it takes! Usually a Full Day would yield up to 800 images from bridal prep to a few songs after the First Dance.  If I stayed from bridal prep until dinner then about 550 photos.

Do you do frames or prints?
Yes, I can offer you a variety of frames from traditional wooden frames to acrylic magnets. From desktop prints to large canvas prints. All of these can be ordered online through the gallery.

Can I have black and white and color images in my coverage?
Yeap, you’ll have the option of having black and white, sepia black and white or color images and for those who have the time to sit down with me, I’m always eager to do something new, something different. I’m also open to new ideas that you might have and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

How many photographers will be at my wedding?
You will always have me as your main wedding photographer. If you would really like another photographer present on the day then an assistant can be made available at an additional cost.

What’s your style of photography?

To remain calm, in control, relaxed and to anticipate the moments that arise throughout your wedding day. Generally I supply couples with a mix of group shots, creative staged shots (quirky, fun, romantic, moody) and also unique natural shots taken as the day unfolds.

I am not a press photographer with a trigger finger blindly shooting you like your the latest celeb. I’m as  discrete as possible but not in a creepy voyeur kinda way.  I try hard to be like an old friend, to make you as comfortable as possible with me and the camera, to photographically manage family and friends in a positive and efficient manner.

Do I have to purchase an album from you?
No. You are not required to purchase the albums from me, but if you do, you will have a completely customised album as I don’t outsource any design work at all. I design all my albums using only professional imaging software such as Adobe Indesign and Photoshop.
I feel that because I am in complete control of the entire process from taking the photos to the creation of a storybook album, what my clients receive is a genuine customised album. Too many photographers are relying heavily on digital templates from outsourced companies which means your album looks pretty much the same as everyone else’s.
Also, because I don’t outsource any of my albums, I can keep the costs down which is passed onto you. Happy days for all. There is a slight catch,  the album can take awhile to create and print, so expect between 2 – 6 months from when you choose your photos before your album is ready for collection.

Do you offer internet hosting of my images?
Yes. I will host your images online to share with family and friends . I now include your own wedding website for as long as I’m in business no matter what wedding package you choose! Not only that but the full resolution files are available online as a back up just in case anything was to happen. It’s also possible to create several other galleries for friends, family and workmates that you’d like to share online. You may not want everyone to see your dad in tears 🙂

Is there an engagement session included in the package?
Yeap. It’s included with the Until Dinner and Full Day album packages. All engagement photographs will be supplied to you via an online password protected website.  Choose an engagement image free of charge to print at whatever size you choose, wherever you choose! For an additional fee, I can print & frame the image. Engagement Shoot locations may incur an additional mileage/travel surcharge. Please contact me for further details.

Do we select the photographs that go into our album?
Most couples would choose their photos through the website online features.  A draft will then be uploaded and the couple are free to suggest as many changes as they  would like at no additional cost. Occasionally I get some couples who are too busy to choose their photos thus trusting me to decide.

Do we have a choice of album styles?
Yes. I have a large variety of album styles to choose from, so many styles you’ll really have to meet or skype video call me to get a good idea of what suits you.

Do you require a booking fee and if so, how much?
Please note that a non-refundable booking deposit of €250 must be paid to secure your wedding day. The remaining amount must then be paid before the wedding day or on the day itself. The sooner the deposit is paid then the sooner I can guarantee to cover your wedding on that day. Please understand that because most weddings happen during March and November, there are only so many weekends I can work and it is in your best interest to secure a wedding date as soon as possible.

What happens if we want to cancel our booking?
I require a letter / email confirming that the booking is to be cancelled. The booking deposit is non-refundable. If you’d like to change your wedding date then it’s subject to availability. To transfer your booking we require written confirmation by letter / email.

Can we change the date of our booking?
Yes, subject to availability. To transfer your booking we require written confirmation by letter / email.

What’s the difference between half-day and full-day coverage?
There are some couples who may not want the bridal/groom preparation photographs. They may not even want any reception photos. All they want is photo coverage of the ceremony and a couple of shots of them or their guests later. So if the shoot takes less than four hours it’s considered half-day coverage. It usually breaks down as follows:

:: 1 hour early arrival to ceremony location
:: 1 hour ceremony
:: 1 hour photographs of couple, family and guests
:: 1 hour to cover late start, more photos and the possiblity of early reception photos*

*If the ceremony and reception are held at the same location or extremely close to each other then I will take as many photographs as possible of the reception until the four hours is up!

Half Day packages may not be available from Thursday – Saturdays especially during more popular months.

With regards to testimonials & recommendations, is it possible to get in touch with a bride or groom that you photographed?

Absolutely, I have several couples who are willing to talk to anybody about my work. For privacy reasons I can’t list their contact details online but am more than willing to give you their details by email. However, my advice when looking for any wedding supplier is to use forums such as One FAB DAy, weddings online, mrs2be, boards.ie and of course facebook for recommendations, tips and advice.
