St Mary’s Church is spacious with ample room to move about and the Athlone Sheraton Hotel is just around the corner making this wedding a walk around for the day. No pressure. No traffic. The staff at the Sheraton are extremely helpful and there’s lots of contemporary modern features to shoot against. All in all. A great day. A great wedding.
It was the beginning of the New Year and the Big Freeze had affected most of Ireland. It took me 3 hours to get to Westmeath from Sallins to photograph the bride getting ready. It should have only taken an hour. Netherless she was delighted to see me as her make up artist cancelled due to the snow. Some of the guests never made it either but the bride and groom were so unbelievably grateful that the wedding was still happening that I don’t think I needed to ask them to smile for the camera once.
